Seven Silly eaters workshop (K / Gr.1)

This engaging, curriculum-connected workshop is inspired by the children’s book Seven Silly Eaters. Students begin by listening to a read-aloud of the story, followed by a guided discussion about picky eating, trying new foods, and showing appreciation for those who prepare meals at home.

Students then participate in a cross-curricular art and literacy activity by completing a thank-you card for a caregiver. They illustrate their favourite food and complete sentence prompts expressing gratitude and identifying ways they can help with food preparation at home.

The workshop concludes with a hands-on cooking experience, where students collaborate to prepare a big, fluffy, pink lemonade cake inspired by the story. Through this activity, students practice teamwork, follow simple instructions, and develop basic food literacy skills.

This program integrates literacy, health, and the arts while fostering gratitude, cooperation, and confidence in the kitchen.
